How to order
Order On-Premise Inbound on its order page in the PortWall billing portal: Order SpamDuster On-Premise Inbound. Choose the number of mail server licences and monthly or yearly billing there; domain packs are on the same page. For how ordering, payment and your account work, see Place an order.
If you would rather we ran the server for you, see SpamDuster Cloud plans.
What On-Premise Inbound is
On-Premise Inbound is the same inbound filtering as SpamDuster Cloud, as an appliance you install and run yourself. It sits in front of your mail servers and stops spam, malware and phishing before they reach a mailbox, with unlimited domains and mailboxes on every licensed mail server that runs a supported hosting control panel.
Where it runs
- VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM or Proxmox, or a physical server (BIOS or UEFI), installed from a single ISO with a guided setup.
- In your own cloud account (coming soon): On-Premise Inbound will be available on AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace and Azure Marketplace.
Who bills for On-Premise Inbound in AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
The marketplace listings are coming soon. We bill only for the SpamDuster licence. Run in your own AWS, Google Cloud or Azure account, On-Premise Inbound needs the same mail-server licences or domain packs as any on-premise appliance, and nothing more from us. The server, storage, network traffic and any other resources in your cloud account are billed to you by your cloud provider, and you manage that billing with them.
How it is licensed
On-Premise Inbound is licensed per mail server:
- Mail-server licences: one for each mail server the appliance protects, 5 mail servers or more. Each licensed mail server that runs a supported hosting control panel (cPanel & WHM, Plesk on Linux or Windows, and DirectAdmin) includes unlimited domains and mailboxes.
- Domain packs: for domains added by hand or through the billing API, without a control panel. Packs combine in any mix and need no server licence.
- Inbound and outbound are separate appliances, licensed separately.
You activate each appliance on its console: enter the appliance ID and activation code from your welcome email on the appliance console. The appliance needs an internet connection to activate its licence and to receive filter and security updates.
What On-Premise Inbound costs
A mail-server licence costs $360 a year or $36 a month per mail server, for 5 mail servers or more. Paying yearly costs the same as 10 months.
Inbound domain packs
| Domains | Addresses | Yearly | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 250 | $120 | $12 (with a server licence) |
| 50 | 500 | $200 | $20 (with a server licence) |
| 100 | 1,000 | $350 | $35 (with a server licence) |
| 250 | 2,500 | $750 | $75 (with a server licence) |
| 500 | 5,000 | $1,250 | $125 |
| 1,000 | 10,000 | $2,000 | $200 |
The addresses a pack covers are the addresses that received mail in the last 30 days. A pack under $100 a month can be paid monthly only alongside an active server licence; bought on its own, it is paid yearly.
If you go over your On-Premise Inbound licence
Going over never stops your mail: it keeps being filtered and delivered. A mail server beyond your licences cannot connect, and a domain beyond your packs is refused when it is added, until you add a licence or a pack. If more addresses receive mail than your packs cover, you get an alert.
If a licence lapses
If a licence lapses, mail keeps being filtered and delivered for 14 days while the management console, reporting and additional detection engines pause; after that the appliance holds new mail with a temporary error, so sending servers queue it and retry, and delivery resumes as soon as the licence is renewed. Sending servers give up after about 5 days, so renew promptly.
